So with the last Exhibition behind us, it now seems like a slew of Eyesore types have stuff to sell.

I (Marc) have a new mini comic out called The Venal Muse. It's what I'd call a "conversation to the reader" regarding my thoughts about the subject of the 'muse.' How one lets a person influence their creative side, whether or not it's actually real and how loosing someone can just ignite it even more.

It costs £6 which covers p+p to anywhere in the world. 28pages b/w with a colour card cover.

Here's what John has to say about his book; The Symphonie Fantastique.

'The images draw from a later era than the verse, being reminiscent of the German Expressionists. They were achieved by the harsh scratching of paint with scribes, knives and nails, a technique similar in effect to woodcut but with finer detail. The images are carefully composed in order to reflect the rhythm and mood of the verse, developing from restrained and simplistic, to sombre and ultimately to grotesque and vulgar, achieving a visual equivalent of Berlioz’ music and how it ingeniously portrayed the narrative.'

Pariah also have their debut e.p up for sale on their myspace page. Pariah consists of Thom from the post below and John from the above paragraph. Their music (like their art in some aspects) is inspired by their current surroundings and how fucked up town life in general can be. Some very honest and brutal lyrics matched with this fierce speed acoustic and violin combo of sound.

It costs £7.50 which includes P+P to the UK. No cd-r's were used in the distrubition of this release!

James Holcombe also has a book out which he collaborated with author Paul Bevis
and design unit White Leaf called Hairdos. You can get a preview of it here and you can buy for it £8.99 from James' store here along with his other books Jaunt and Hum. I really, really liked Jaunt, so maybe buy that while you're buying Hairdos?

God and while I'm fucking at it (because god knows who needs sleep when you can blog all night long, sweet jesus!) Andrew Kerr from our friends at the Mentalist Association has a mini comic out called Extreme VS Extreme and it's a comic of fights! It comes with stickers! Of things! Fighting! It's pretty lollllllllll.

Was meant to be part of a spread showing the sleb trend for having your Romanian orphan's features altered to look like Ricky Gervais...(this was before all the Madonna hoo-haa...)...

Hello again, world.

In an attempt to kick start the Eyesore blog back off, I'm posting a panel from the second issue of Love The Way You Love (the comic I draw for Oni Press) which comes out next week I believe. As you can see, the nemesis Marcus Lee is surrounded by a bunch of arty bastards, who probably have some involvement with Eyesore in someway. I'm aware this panel is only going to be funny to maybe 7 people...

Eyesore 3 is still sorta slowly getting underway. There will be some new faces joining us, one of which is Louis Roskosh an Animation Student studying..urrr...somewhere? Make sure if anything you check out his Batman strip, which is the lol'est thing, like eva! The above image is from his strip about monkeys in space.

...oh I should be moving into a studio at the end of the month - living like a peasant in a Luton garrett...if I was a fictional character in 'Neighbours' this would be irredeemably attractive and romantic, and I would suddenly become attractive to women...indeed, I would be invited to pool parties and get involved in deep discussions with Sky about what it takes to be an artist, all the while subtlely trying to get my hands warm...TITSARSECUNTFUCKCUNT!!!!

Pariah

Because neither Thom or John have instant net access, I thought I'd post on their behalf and say that Pariah, the violin, acoustic guitar grindfolk duo, have just put up two new tracks on their Myspace page which you can download along with the glorious "Stone The Crows." I saw them both tonight at The Foundry and they seem in good spirits about their work and their music. The new stuff is sounding incredible despite John "screwing up" (which no one noticed, apart from Ben, who's DJ set was aweinspiring) the energy and emotion that overpowers them when playing is just immense.

That image (ABOVE!!!!!) is my cover for the Truck Festival programme. Truck festival is a festival in Oxfordshire and is pretty good. Some band called The Phew Tchure Eds are headlining.

Also! I updated my goddamn website. It's now a bit more happy looking.

I cordially invite you all to the next "Art in Mind" exhibition of which my work is to be a part. It is to be at the new Arts Hole gallery at Brick Lane!

It is running from the Monday the 22nd to Sunday the 28th of May. The private view will take place on Thursday the 25th of May, from 6pm to 9pm; complimentary drinks will be available as well as my company.

So I'm doing a 5 page strip for this new comic anthology called Bottle Rocket that's coming out in Summer. I'm a bit late on it, I've still got 2 pages to draw and it should of been in tonight. Oh well, I could go and finish it off or I could sit here and update this blog, which is far more rewarding let me tell you! I've decided to call the strip Murmurs which is a plural of an R.E.M album. I'm thinking of keeping it going, make it sort of a irregular thing that I produce whenever I feel like it.
I'll probably more than likely put this in the new issue of Pandemonium which is coming soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello! hope everyones eyes are ok?!?!?! :) here is one of my most recent efforts.. still need to work on the colouring a little (Photoshop colouring ametuer here). I'm going to enter this illustration for a t-shirt competition at www.subedition.co.uk the idea is based on mutants, which is this months set theme. I just found out that ur limited to using 3 colours, which has fucked me right up. so i'm going to have to edit mine some how... I'll come up with something, don't you worry. Grown men were said to have fainted at the sight of it. The true identity of the creature remains shrouded in rumour and mystery, but it was medically examined by an independant group of distinguished physicians who presented Barnum with a certificate of authenticity. As to whether he had working teats is another matter of conjecture...The rest of the text reads; 'It was captured in a savge part of Kent, is probably around 30 yrs old, 5ft high, docile, randy and PLAYFUL AS A KITTEN!
